1. Have you encountered false teaching regarding Jesus Christ? If so, what was it like?

2. Why is the deity of Jesus Christ foundational to Christianity?

3. Can a person who denies the deity of Christ be truly saved?

4. An early heresy (modalism) taught that God revealed himself as the Father in the Old Testament, as the Son in the New Testament, and as the Holy Spirit after Pentecost. Why is this wrong? How does John 1:1-2 refute it?

5. Outside of the Gospel of John, what texts of scripture do you know that most strongly prove the deity of Jesus?

6. Read Hebrews 2:14-18 and discuss how Jesus Christ (“the Word”) in becoming one of us helps us in our suffering.
