The Nominating Ministry
Dear Member and Adherent
Each year you have the opportunity to “choose out from among us leaders of earnest report, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we appoint over the tasks” of this church. (Acts 6:3) We believe that the indication of this scripture is that the congregation is to be involved in the choosing of those who serve. The Nominating Ministry will review all names of those who may be suggested by other members or adherents, or of those who desire to serve. The Nominating Ministry shall recommend to the congregation for nomination those who best meet the required qualifications. Also each year a certain number of Governance Board member terms come to an end and need to be re-filled; so watch for announcements in the eNews and respond with your recommendations. Check here to make your recommendation online or download the paper version, complete and return to the church office.
As an active member or adherent, be a part of the process:
- If you feel called to serve in a leadership role; or
- If you would like to recommend someone for one of the roles, fill out the online "Leadership Nomination" & Recommendation Form".
It goes without saying that this should be done carefully and prayerfully, since the responsibility is serious and the cause of Christ will be greatly affected. This is your privilege and opportunity to participate in leadership selection, please pray about your role or someone who you could recommend.
Note the biblical qualifications of those who would serve as leaders; note that the Governance Board members should be chosen from among the strongest spiritual leaders in the church. Similar qualifications should also apply for all other ministry team members.
Don't let the qualifications be a deterrent - but an encouragement. If you fit, we need you. God has brought you to this church for service, and if you know others who would fit a specific leadership role, please let us know by completing the online Nominations Form.

The Nominating Ministry
The Nominating Ministry shall be comprised of seven members, three members of the congregation and three members of the Governance Board and the Senior Pastor or his designate. They will be responsible for nominating Church directors and officers, the Controller and Property and Finance Ministry Coordinator, the next year's nominating ministry, the financial examining ministry, the Ombudsman Ministry, and any other vacancies that shall occur. Leadership selection and nominations shall be based on the procedures and forms as outlined in the Nominating Ministry Handbook. The report of the nominating ministry shall be filed with the Church Clerk and published to the congregation at least 30 days before the annual meeting.
