Tidal Impact - Day Six
/One of the highlights for me this week has been serving at Harvest House. The men and women who love there are all former drug or alcohol addicts and have all had hard lives. Each morning at chapel there we share Bible study together and hear their stories. A couple morning ago one of the men shared a song he has written about how Jesus has saved him. This morning one of their summer staff shared her story of being healed by God of a debilitating disease. It's moving day after day to spend time with these wonderful people.
On Thursday morning some of our team attended chapel at Harvest House and then cleaned and organized there. Others served by doing a prayer walk in neighbourhood called West Lane, others went to the food bank and helped sort the food that we collected the night before. We also had students at the regional food depot and at the Vacation Bible Camp we've been helping to lead.
In the afternoon we had a fun break from all the work we've been doing. We went to Magic Mountain - Moncton's water slide park. It was a blast to spend time with our new friends and try out the different slides!
After Magic Mountain we returned again to Moncton Wesleyan. We had supper there together, our leaders had a leaders session about the Youth Alpha Film Series, and then we all worshipped God together! Our evening ended with communion - which is always one of the most powerful God-moments of Tidal Impact!
Keep praying for us! On Friday we have one more morning of ministry, and afternoon visit to the beach, our final evening worship service, and then a long drive home.
