Read Exodus 20:13; Matt. 5:21-26; 1 John 3:11-18 Ask God to bless your study.

1. Do you agree that the 6th commandment does not prohibit self-defence, capital punishment, and war? Why or why not?

2. Do you agree that the 6th commandment prohibits abortion, suicide, and euthanasia? Why or why not?

3. What does the 6th commandment teach us about God?

4. What does the 6th commandment teach us about ourselves?

5. Why should hate be bracketed with murder? How do you handle feelings of anger and hatred against other persons?

6. How prevalent is anger in your life? At whom is it most often directed? How might you be indulging that anger in a way that tempts you to devalue the person who triggers it?

7. What is your usual response to those who anger you most, both your heart response and your verbal response? What life- giving response could you have instead for the next time?
