Ice Breaker: Each person get out a coin. Then share something interesting that happened to you during that year. Read Genesis 12:10-13:4 and pray that God will bless your time of fellowship.

  1. Share a time when you, like Abram, had doubts about God’s plan for your life. Were you tempted to take matters into your own hands without seeking God? If so, how did that go?
  2. How do you react when crises comes into your life even though you’re attempting to do all you can to fully follow God?
  3. What currently represents “Canaan” (famine) for you in your life? What represents “Egypt” (fear)? How do you think God wants you to respond to the “Canaan” and “Egypt” in your life? How can we support you in your resolve to remain in “Canaan”?
  4. How does the knowledge of God’s faithfulness and grace give you hope after a failed “trip to Egypt”? How does a passage like 1 John 1:9 foster this hope?

Pray that our church family will grow closer to God and one another through this series on the life of Abraham.
