Warm-up. What comes to mind when you hear the word, ‘evangelism’?
Read Matthew 28:16-20 Ask God to bless your study.
1. What is the church's primary mission?
2. How can the church do good things and yet miss the Great Commission?
3. Why is it crucial to recognize and believe in the authority of Jesus Christ as we seek to obey the Great Commission?
4. Jesus said he would make his followers ‘fishers’ (Matt 4:19). Explain the idea that the Great Commission is for all Christians.
5. Why is prayer crucial in making disciples? How important is ‘joy’ in our mission to make disciples and where do we find it?
6. Explain the following: The Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20) goes hand in hand with the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30)?
7. On a day-to-day basis, what does it mean to depend on Jesus’ presence as you carry out the Great Commission?
8. What characteristics would you expect to find in a church that’s not ‘fish-less’ but being faithful to the Great Commission?
