Reflection & Discussion
Warm-up. What colour describes your day and why?
Read Acts 2:42-47 Ask God to bless your study.
1. How important to you are the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer? Is any one of these more or less important to you than the others? If so, why?
2. How can you devote ourselves to “the apostles’ teaching” today? Why is it important to do this together (Romans 12:3-8; Ephesians 4:1-16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)?
3. How can you devote yourself to the “fellowship”? How can you bless and share with others? Think of some specific ways.
4. Why is the Lord’s Supper, the “breaking of bread” important (see Luke 22:14-23; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:23-26)?
5. Why should you devote yourself to “prayer “ with other?
6. Besides their meetings in the temple, the early believers met in homes for prayer, fellowship, teaching, and meals. Why do you think that eating together is a support to fellowship?
Application: Plan a home meeting with some Christians friends in which you share a meal, prayer, and encouraging fellowship.
7. How is our church like and unlike what Luke describes in Acts 2:42-47; 4:32-37? Are there ways that you’d like it to change?
Pray and ask God to show you anything that you can do to help our church to be strong and healthy in our mission together.
