Reflection & Discussion

Warm-up. Finish this: “As a kid I always wanted to be...”

Read: Matthew 6:10. Ask God to bless your study.

1. What are the implications of praying to God, “Your kingdom come, your will be done”? Can your kingdom and God’s Kingdom co-exist happily? Explain how.

2. In what ways do your kingdom and God’s Kingdom battle against each other? How do you submit to God? What does this look like in your daily life?

3. In what ways, if any, can you relate to Jacob’s story of wrestling with God (Genesis 32:22-32)?

4. Dr. James Packer said, “God’s kingdom is not a place, but a relationship.” Do you agree? Why or why not?

5. How does knowing your Father’s love help you to then pray, ‘Your kingdom come, your will be done’, first in all things?

6. What are some ways you pray for God’s kingdom to come more in your life, within your family, church and country?

7. How does Jesus modelling how to wrestle and prevail in prayer (Matthew 26:36-42) help you to also prevail in prayer?

Remember to close in prayer for one another and for our church family as we together study this important matter of prayer.
