Warm-up. What would you describe as a perfect day?

Read: Matthew 6:11. Ask God to bless your study.

1. What does “our daily bread” encompass? How consciously dependent are you on God the Father each day?

2. How does this short petition “Give us this day our daily bread” address the danger of our self-sufficiency?

3. Is there a “call to simplicity” in this prayer, why or why not?

4. The phrase is “give us” not “give me”. What role does this have in our being an answer to this prayer in the lives of others?

5. Describe a moment when you experienced a perspective shift, realizing how much you have (materially) compared to the majority world. How did it impact you? For how long?

6. How is “Give us this day our daily bread” similar to the way God provided manna for the Israelites in the desert (Ex. 16)?

7. How does Proverbs 30:8-9 factor into the Matthew 6:11?

8. How did Jesus also define “daily bread” in John 6:32-35, 51, 53. Why is this important and how do we live it?
