Christian in Complete Armour - Part 1 - Belt of Truth

With this message Pastor Daniel launches our series on Ephesians 6:10-20 on the Amour of God.

REFLECTION AND DISCUSSION

You can download these small group notes in PDF format here.

Warm-up. Share New Year’s resolutions you may have made. Read Ephesians 6:10-20. Pray God blesses your study time.

  1. When we consider the subject of spiritual warfare, what are the two extremes we need to avoid? Why might we gravitate toward either of the extremes?

  2. Why do you think Paul summarizes the previous chapters’ teaching with this final section on the armour of God? What is at stake if you do not put on the full armour of God?

  3. How does the belt of truth provide stability in your life?

  4. What are some areas of your life where truth is eroding? How will you restore God’s truth to these areas?

  5. In your own words, describe how Ephesians 1:18-21 is relevant for you in your daily battle.

  6. Knowing what Christ has gained for us in his life, death, and resurrection, what should our relationship with God be like as we engage in spiritual warfare (employee/employer or enlisted)?

  7. Paul says our battle is not against flesh and blood. Describe a time when you had forgotten this truth. What was the result?

  8. Whenever you have lost spiritual ground to the enemy, what has happened? What would you do differently to prevent it?

Pray that God’s Word will be the truth that directs our lives both personally and as a church family into this new year.
