REFLECTION AND DISCUSSION

You can download these small group notes in PDF format here.

Warm-up. In what way is the Christian life like a battle? Read Rom. 3:21-31; Eph 6:14 Pray God blesses your study.

  1. When do you feel most attacked by the Evil One?

  2. How does the breastplate of righteousness (Christ’s once and for all imputed, and his daily imparted, righteousness) protect and comfort you with assurance spiritually?

  3. What is the difference between justification and sanctification (Rom. 3:25b-26, 6:11, 14-18; 1 Cor. 6:9, 11; Phil. 2:12-13)? How are they related to one’s new account and position before God and one’s new affections and practice of daily living?

  4. How do these truths about the Breastplate of Righteousness help to protect you and fend off the past accusations and present assaults of the Evil One (Romans 8:1, 33-35)?

  5. Share how the holy joy of Jesus - in your adoring him for providing, at great cost to himself, your breastplate of righteousness - helps protect and guard your heart as well?

Pray that God will help you to grasp these important truths so that you can victoriously live them out to the glory of God.
