Warm-up. What do you look for in a friend?

Read Galatians 5:26-6:5. Ask God to bless your study.

1. Considering the context of Galatians 6:1-5 how would you define being ‘conceited’ (Galatians 5:26) and how does it hinder carrying other’s burdens and restoring those who sin?

2. Few people intentionally plan to get ‘caught’ up in sin. How do you watch yourself?

3. Paul says in Galatians 6:1 that someone who is ‘spiritual’ should ‘restore’ those caught in transgression. What are the marks of a spiritual person as seen in Galatians 5:22-23 and how does this help in the work of restoration?

4. Read John 13:34 and 15:12 then discuss how ‘the law of Christ’ mentioned in Galatians 6:2 is applied to us.

5. How does the fact that Jesus was willingly ‘crushed’ (Isaiah 53:4-5) under the burden of our sin help you to be willing to sacrificially come alongside and carry the burdens of others?

Prayerfully ask God to show you someone who is struggling to manage a heavy burden that you can help shoulder this week.
